Marcin Gałażyn
Marcin Gałażyn is an award-winning composer, accordionist, multi-instrumentalist, and creator of
music for film, theatre, television productions, documentaries, games, audiobooks, and commercials.
He has composed music for over 40 series, films, and television programs.
Marcin Gałażyn is the author of the original scores for the films: Gra o Koronę, Rzeczpospolita
Zakopiańska, Stańczyk (dir. Piotr Jaworski), Medanoso (dir. John Robertson), Morskie oko nasze,
Murowanica, Polski Szeregowiec Ryan (dir. Monika Skwirtniańska), The Tender Ones Will Triumph,
Farewell Melody (dir. Francisco Bassigniana), Dziennik obserwatora, and Jacek Sroka. Czeluść
Działoszyc (dir. Jarosław Migoń)—the last two of which have been multiple award winners at
international festivals.
He composed the music for the Great Ballet Gala L’art de la dance at the Kraków Opera (2021).
Marcin has been playing the accordion since the age of seven. He is a graduate of the Instrumental
Faculty of the Academy of Music in Kraków. He is a laureate of many accordion, chamber, and jazz
competitions and a co-founder of the Que Passa band, which performs flamenco fusion music, with
whom he has appeared in European clubs and festivals. Since 1999, he has been the accordionist for
the Motion Trio, with whom he has played hundreds of concerts on classical, rock, and jazz stages in
42 countries across six continents.
His music was performed live during the Closing Ceremony of the European Games 2023 in Poland
(broadcasted in 50 countries); he is a co-composer of the music for the film Szczęście świata (dir.
Michał Rosa). He has co-led masterclasses at the University of Chicago, the Royal Academy of Music
in London, Conservatorio di Musica Tchaikovsky di Catanzaro, and the National Music Academy in
Sofia.
