Adam Diesner

Composer, conductor, and educator, actively working in the fields of contemporary, choral, and oratorio-cantata music. He graduated from the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where he completed studies in composition (graduated with distinction) and choral conducting. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the same institution’s Doctoral School while also working as a lecturer. In 2024, he completed a prestigious artistic and scientific internship at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome, serving as a doctoral assistant in the composition class of Professor Giampiero Gemini.

 

He is a laureate of numerous international and national composition competitions, including: the Grand Prix at the Franz Schubert International Music Competition (2023), 2nd and 3rd prizes at the World Music Championship in Vienna (2023), 3rd prize at the 5th World Championship in Composition (2023), 3rd prize at the European Composer Competition in Vienna (2022), and 3rd prize at the International Composer Competition NEW VISION in New York (2020).

 

His music has been performed on many prominent stages and festivals both in Poland and abroad, including: Philharmonie Luxembourg (Luxembourg), Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia (Rome), International Viola Congress (Thailand), and Teatr Polski (Warsaw).

 

The works of Adam Diesner have been documented on albums released by the Publishing House of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk and the Ars Sonora Association.

 His artistic output includes numerous compositions such as Te Deum. Chwałã przëjim òd nas, Requiem Kaszubskie, W céni Bòżëch skrzidłów, and Suita Polska.

 

Diesner is also an active organizer of musical life. Since 2017, he has served as president of the Ars Moderna Association, which supports the development and promotion of contemporary music. He was also a board member of the Young Composers’ Circle of the Polish Composers’ Union (2016–2022) and the artistic director of the Pomeranian Festival of Contemporary Art.
